Oswego Times July 6,1917
Miss delia davis received a letter Saturday from Miss Alice Fortner of Grand 
Ronde,Oregon. telling of the death of her brother,Riley Fortner,at Honlulu.He 
enlisted two months ago and was sent fromMare Island to Honlulu,where 
contracted duptheria and died June 3,12:31 am.The Fortners were pioneers of 
Oswego
