Funeral Services For Mrs Fenske Are held
Mrs Lenora belle Fenske Laid To rest In Zion Cemetary On Sunday
One of the largest funerals that was ever held in Canby was the funeral of Mrs 
Lenora belle Fenske,wife of Jacob Fenske,who died in the hospital at Oregon 
City,Thanksgiving day,November 29,1923.At the request of the family and pastor 
the services were held in the Methodist Church in Canby,and the funeral sermon 
was preached by Rev W.R Kraxberger,pastor Lutheran Church at Oregon City.
We have attended many funerals but have never attended one where the sermon 
seemed better stated,more pointed,and more appropriate than this one.Dr 
Kraxberger is one of the eminent preachers of our state,and it is a great 
privilege to have the opportunity to hear him.Just previous to the funeral he 
read the following:
Lenora belle Fenske,nee Lamour was born on the 10th day of February,1893,as 
the daughtre of Mr and Mrs Adam Lamour,of Macksberg,Oregon.there she attended 
the public school  and quite regular the church.Afterwards she took special 
instruction in Gods Word.On August 17th,1911,Lenora entered the estate of Holy 
Matrimony with Jacob Fenske.Their marriage was blessed with three children-
Albert,Lester,and Lloyd
About a year ago Lenora underwent a serious operatio  and fromt hat time on 
she never recovered entirely.Last week,according to doctors advice,she again 
went to the hospital with the hope of regaining her health,but God in his wise 
Providence has changed her sick bed into a death bed.On Thursday morning at 7 
o'clock the Lord has called her home.A happy family life came abruptly to an 
end,and we mourn the loss of a dear loving wife,a most faithful and self 
sacrificing mother ,sister,and friend
