All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com December 30, 2006, 7:06 pm Oregon Statesman November 1,1930 Mrs.K.Etzel Called By Death Stayton,October 31-Mrs.Katherine Etzel died at her home in Sublimity Monday,October 27.Katherine Dukart was born in Russia,February 24,1853.She was married to Joseph Etzel,in 1873,came to America in 1878 and settle in Topeka,Kansas.On November 5,1890 they came to Oregon,locating at Sublimity,here they resided for three years when they moved to the farm on Fern Ridge Road where a son,Pete T.Etzel now lived.On August 14,1910,Mr.Etzel died and in October of that year the family moved to Sublimity,where the deceased has since resided. Nine sns and three daughters were born to Mr.and Mrs.Etzel,and with the exception of Joseph C. who died March 25,1930,all survive.They are:George P.,Topeka,Kansas;John F.Los Angeles;Andrew J.Los Angeles;Peter T.,Stayton;Latherine Lambrecht,Shaw;Rose Hanhart,Los Angeles;Frank B.,Stayton;Mary Kintz,Sublimity;Edward G.Portland;and Sim F. Etzel,Stayton.She is also survived by 37 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her death was not unexpected,as she had been in poor health due to hardening of the arteries.Since the death of her son,Joseph,her daughter,Mrs.Mary Kintz and family have been living with her. Solemn requim high mass will be held at Sublimity on Monday,November 3,at 9 a.m. and internment will be beside her husband in the Sunblimity cemetary.All the children from distant points will be here for the funeral.
