When Mr.Eckerson left Canby to visit his son he was in his usual good health.he was taken down with erysipela and his death followed very suddenly. Mr.Eckerson was borin in Ohio December 25,1853,and came to Oregon when a young man,locating on a farm near Canby.He had made his hom ein this community almost continuously since that time.He is survived by a son,Lee Eckerson,former banker of Canby,and a daughter,Mrs.Avon Jesse of Needy. The funeral was held in the Christian church Saturday forenoon and internment was made in Zion cemetary. Mr. Eckerson was a member of the I.O.O.F. and Knights of Pythias lodges,and carried insurance in the A.O.U.W. order.
