Funeral Services Held For James Davenport
Funeral services for the late James H Davenport,who passed away at his home 
here last Friday,were held from the Nazarene church last Sunday at 11 a.m.,Rev 
G.C Wicker,officiating,with internment in the Zion cemetary
James Davenport was born in Virginia,May 16,1836 and at the time of his death 
was 86 years and nine months old.he was the father of 11 children,nine of whom 
survive .they are William,Sylvester,Alfor W,Daird,Henry,Mary Anna,Harvey 
M.,John M.,Francis M., and Charles Burnie.He came to Canby from Nebraska in 
1906,where he reside until his death
He was converted in 1854  and unite din the M.E Church ,where he remaine d 
afaithful member for  a number of years.In 1909 he joined the church of the 
Nazarene where he was a devoted member until God called him home.he also gave 
his country faithful service during the Civil war.
He was a man much loved by all who kne him and he leaves besides his 
children,and grand children,a host of friends who will greatly miss him.
