Judge H.E.Cross Died At His Home
Former Canby Resident Is Called By Death Monday Morning
Ex-county judge Harvey E. Cross, brother of W.A. Cross of this city and a 
former resident of the Canby community,died at his home in Gladstone Monday 
morning.He had been ill for a number of months,but was able to be out much of 
the time,and his sudden departure came as a great surprise to his many friends 
throughout the county.
Funeral services were held at Gladstone yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock with 
internment at Mountain View cemetaRY AT oREGON city.
Harvey Cros was born seventy three years ago on the donation land claim of his 
parents near Canby and spent his boyhood days ini this community. His parents 
crossed the plains in 1852.
Mr.Cross was city attorney for a number of years and was later elected county 
judge,which office he held from January 1921 to January 1927,and during his 
administration Clackamas county did much towards his good road achievement .
Since retiring from the office of county judge he has practiced law a little 
bit but for the most part has lead a retired lfe,having been in poor healh 
much of the time.
Several from Canby went to Oregon City yesterday afternoon to atten the 
funeral.
