Canby herald July 19,1928
Orton Cole,formerly a resident of Canby and well known in this community,died 
a few deays ago at a sanitarium in California where he had been taken for 
treatmet.Tuberculosis is said to have been the immediate cause of death.The 
body was shipped to oMolalla where the funeral wa held Tuesday afternoon.
Orton Cole,only a few months ago,was the perfect picture of health.The 
announcement of his sudden death came as a great surprise to his many friends 
in this vicinity.He was the son o fht elate Mr.and Mrs. C.O.Cole and was fpor 
some time engaged in business with his father at Canby.He was married at 
Spokane a feew months after leaving here.Within th epast eighteen months his 
mother and father preceded him to the grave.
He is survived by his widow,now confined in a hospital expecting to become a 
mother,and a young brother and sister
