Mrs.Cole died a few weeks ago following an operation for appendicitis.Since the death of his wife Mr.Cole failed very rapidly and while intiomate friends and relatives believed it was but a matter of little time when he would follow his beloved wife,his death came as a great surprise to all. For a long time Mr.Cole was a member of the school board in Canby Union high district and resigned only a few days before his death.He was engaged in the radio business in Canby with his son,having opened a store here a couple of ears ago. he was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.John P.Cole,pioneer residents of Clackamas County and was married at Bellingham,Wsh.,in 1903.After marriage Mr.and Mrs.Cole resided in Bellingham,for a few years and also at Spokane.About seven years ago they returned to Canby and have since resided at the old home place. Mr.Cole was a man of good repute,public spiried nd whatever he did for public welfare,he was sincere in evry effort.
