Prominent Canby Man Is called By Death
C.O.Cole,native of Clackamas County and well known in this community,died at 
four o'clock friday afternoon at his farm home south of Canby Where he was 
born forty nine yers ago.The funeral was held at Molalla Sunday.He leaves 
three children and several brothers and sisters all living in Clackamas County.
Mrs.Cole died a few weeks ago following an operation for appendicitis.Since 
the death of his wife Mr.Cole failed very rapidly and while intiomate friends 
and relatives believed it was but a matter of little time when he would follow 
his beloved wife,his death came as a great surprise to all.
For a long time Mr.Cole was a  member of the school board in Canby Union high 
district and resigned only a few days before his death.He was engaged in the 
radio business in Canby with his son,having opened a store here a couple of 
ears ago.
he was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.John P.Cole,pioneer residents of Clackamas 
County and was married at Bellingham,Wsh.,in 1903.After marriage  Mr.and 
Mrs.Cole  resided in Bellingham,for a few years and also at Spokane.About 
seven years ago they returned to Canby and have since resided at the old home 
place.
Mr.Cole was  a man of good repute,public spiried nd whatever he did for public 
welfare,he was sincere in evry effort.
