This community was shocked last Sunday to hear of the death of our fellow townsman,Harve Bissell,who had been ill only since last Thirsday,the immediate cause of his death being heart disease.Harve was well and favorably known in Canby,as he was a resident of this city for the past 30 years,and for some time had been in the dray business. Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. from the Methodist Church,with rev W.Boyd Moore,pastor of the church officiating.Interment was in the Zion cemetary near Canby.A large crowd was present to pay their last respects to the deceased. James harvey Bissell was born in Pittsfiled,Illinois,on March 12,1871,and at the time of his death was 53 years,1 month,and 22 days old.He came with his parents to Canby in 1894.In 1896 he was married to Miss Winnie Coffman,to which union three children were born,who survive him are;Mrs Daphne Hewitt,of Portland;Mrs Muriel Averill,of Portland;and Miss Lauara Pauline Bissell,of Portland.He was married again on February 2,1924 to Mabel Clifford,who survives him.He also leaves to mourn his loss,one brother,W.E Bissell,of Canby,and one sister,Mrs nellie Shank,od Santa Cruz,Cal.
