Pioneer of District Dies in Hospital
Wilsonville-Aug 30-Fred E Barnes,pioneer of this place,died Sunday evening at 
the Oregon City Hospital after a long illness.For the past year he has been 
confined to the hospital as a semi-invalid resulting from a paralytic stroke 
seven years ago.Deceased was 46 years old,born in Wilsonville,and attended 
Frog Pond school.He was a prominent member of the Frogpond Grange,and is 
survived by a sister,Viola Barnes,liviing near here.He had a large number of 
friends.Funeral services were held in Oregon City Tuesday afternoon and 
internment was in Stafford cemetary
