All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com October 15, 2006, 12:33 pm Sherwood News Sheet March 13,1912 Philemon Plummer Bailey Philemon Plummer Bailey,son of Thomas and Lucetta Bailey,was born in Tipton Co,Indiana,June 13,1851,was married to Elizabeth Barngrover in Barton Co.Kansas,November 25,1877 Passed from this stage of existence,at Portlan,Oregon,March 7th,1912,leaving a wife,two sons,and seven daughters,besides an aged mother,five sisters and a host of friends to mourn his departure, Deceased was a man of brilliance and intellect and naturally of a kindly ,sympathetic,and generous position A chain of accidents of an extremely severe character,one of which deprived him of an eye,and was followed by a lasting illness,so affecting his brain,and nervous system,as to cause him to appear somewhat unreasonable and irritable at times during recent years,but those who knew him best,understood,and had for him only love and sympathy His religious creed was as broad as was his conception of the immensity and perfection of the creator.
