All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com November 4, 2006, 1:37 pm Canby Herald And Clackamas County News June 28, 1923 Oregon City-June 26- The verdict of the jury regarding the death of Arthur Paulson,driver of the Portland-Salem stage,who was accidentally struck by an automobile at the crossroads at Barlow Sunday,while he was handing a passenger baggage from the rear of the stage was the following"Arthur Paulson met his death due to carelessness on the part of the drivers of a Jewett and a Ford car in approaching an intersectio on a road crossing" The names of the drivers of the car were not mentioned by the jurymen in giving their verdict this afternoon. The Jewett car was driven by Mrs H.P Bush of 892 East Twenty-eighth street,Portland,while the driver of the Ford car is not known,bu the car bore the license No. 63937. The jurmen Frank Cross,John Scott,J.M Hamilton,Frank Moore,George Ely,and R.D Wilson,were taken to Barlow by Coroner O.A Pace.where they viewed the site of the accident . Following the verdixt of the jury,the remains of the young man were turned over to the east Side Undertakinh Establishment of Prtland,where funeral arrangements will be made.
