From the juncton of State Road 109 and New Hope Rd. in SW Houston Co, Alabama, go west approximately 2/10ths of a mile. The Smith Family cemetery is on the south side of New Hope Road. There is no sign, but the tombstones abut the road right of way and are easily visible. This cemetery is not being maintained and is overgrown with brush. There is one shattered, illegible tombstone and 5 flat concrete grave covers with no legible inscription. Graves marked with metal funeral home markers are noted as these markers often do not survive for a long time. The cemetery area, family groupings, and all tombstones were recorded with a digital camera and the full set of high resolution photos plus this text file will be placed in the Family History Library, Salt Lake City, Utah, for public use. Original survey taken May 26 2007. Requests for photos of specific tombstones may be sent to the contributor at the e-mail address above.
